Gelene Outskirts

Description

Gelene Outskirts is a suburban town serving the city of Gelene. It is a large area of land stretching from the coast of western landmass inland towards Dark Mountains. Outskirts surround the city of Gelene and serve as an important travel and trade hub; merchants and entrepreneurs do business here before moving on to Emerald city itself.

Outskirts is a region of considerable variety, with flat coastal planes leading into a hilly region. Long coastline comprises much of Channel of Gelene. Serene beaches of white sand are quite a sight to behold. Influence of cold seas is evident through chilly winters and fresh summers. Rainfall is especially heavy throughout winters.

Region is home to a number of harbours and many of the goods heading for Aquitain or Gelene come through Outskirts' small ports. While much of trade is conducted in more established areas, flow of gold provides a healthy income to support more traditional farming and herding. Livestock is plenty, most notably sheep and horses. Fishing is an important food source. Wheat and corn are staple crops of the region, while large fields surround various towns. Forested areas are sparse, few holding variety of oak and other hardwood. Copses of poplars are scattered here and there among fields and towns.
