Region Details

Description

This rural area is the southernmost point of the continent. As such, Warmanoras is a quiet yet beautiful region that is rarely visited by nobles. Being out of the way has made this region extremely fertile and plentiful in natural resources. This gorgeous region full of luscious rolling plains has a impeccable climate featuring a warm southern ocean breeze. With the grand cities of Oritolon and Alowca claiming the vast majority of the richer trade and travellers, Warmanoras tends to attract only those who cannot afford their steep docking fees and those who, for one reason or another, prefer to avoid these busy and well policed cities. There is a long standing tradition of smuggling in Warnamoras; their dock-masters are a byword for inventive alteration of shipping documents. Even during the long war between Alowca and Oritolon much unofficial trade took place between the cities via the many small harbours that populate the coast.

The common folk love their region particularly because of it's distance from the wars of the continent. Practicing a pragmatic brand of loyalty, much of their time is devoted to supporting whichever realm is currently in authority and keeping their officials as far away as possible.  At least as far away from their lucrative (and un-taxable) trade as possible. Because of this, the commoners of Warmanoras has shown a remarkable ability to govern themselves with minimal interference from the ruling noble.  This way of practical thinking has allowed the religion of Shadowism to gain a strong following among the people here.

All in all, Warmanoras' beauty and peace has put it among the most sought after regions for commoners on the island. While the wealth from the black-market trade, along with fertile land, abundant fish stocks in the southern seas lends Warnamoras a modest prosperity and cosmopolitan atmosphere not enjoyed by many other regions that are equally remote and rural.
