Region Details

Description

Abaka sits just across The River and southwest of the city of Alebad. Large silt deposits and a warm climate combine to make Abaka a fruitful paradise.

In the southern parts of the region, where the weather tends to be more tropical, citrus fruits abound from numerous groves.  Grape vineyards line the northern hills. Wines produced in those vineyards are one of the best quality wine produced in the Colonies, perhaps second only to Trinity priest blood wine that was once produced in Grentzen. But then again, priest blood wine is produced from priests that are drunk exclusively on Abaka wine.

A small trade route has developed between Vir el Mari heights and Abaka to transport pine resin downstream for one of the more popular wine selections . Added during fermentation, the resin gives this Abakan wine its unique, sweet flavor. Pine is not the only tree grew in abundance in Abaka. High quality oak tree also grew in Abaka that is used to produce wine barrel to contain fine wine made is Abaka. An excellent complement to fish or salty meals, much of the wine is shipped northward along the ''Portion-Alebad-Alowca'' trade route.

After having been bequefed to Halcyon by Ornitolon, Abaka started develloping new industries. The minty bush was introduced, being the primary ingredient of Halcyons extra fresh extra strong mints. Besides that several flocks of goats, grazing exclusively on the flowery south sides of the hills of Abaka, were introduced in an ongoing attempt to reproduce and improve upon the production of the famed Ibladeshi "Goat Wine" Goat wine is in fact a heady fermentation of very sugary goat urine. The consumption of Goat wine followed by some extra strong mints is particularly highly recommended

Despite their close proximity to the great city of Alebad, plenty of quiet peasant communities have grown up rather isolated from society on the coastal swamps that line the river delta.
