Region Details

Description

The hazardous region of Hilly Holes is made up of gigantic and minuscule hills riddled with sink holes, caves and natural depressions. Devoid of significant plant life, the abundant native wildlife sustains itself as ravenous carnivores. The howling of large beasts, even in the dreary daylight that frequents the region, echoes through the mists and fog prevalent throughout the hilly land. Confusing and throwing off the sense of direction, causing further havoc for many a weary traveler. Coupled with the natural pitfalls of the region, tradesmen, local peasantry and travelers commonly go missing, with their remains rarely found.

The region's fortifications protect a tower of significantly precarious height. The structure that holds it in place defies explanation, as it has been seemingly on the verge of toppling or collapse for as long as local memory can sustain.

Hilly Holes plays host to two military recruitment centers, a scouting guild and a temple to the Apostles of the Abyss. The worgs used in the cavalry center are native to the region, and flourish thanks to the local terrain and numerous mammals to feed on. The fiendish infantry are cultivated from one of the deepest holes in the area. A hole that penetrates into the foulest of recesses to an abysmal subterranean dwelling tribe of cannibals to produce nefarious, yet mediocre fighters barely worth recruiting.
