Region Details

Description

Ippetimbal is a mountainous region at the heart of Beluaterra, a third of its land area is occupied by impassable mountains with the remaining land dominated by rolling hills, steep cliffs and sharp valleys. Running through the core of the region is a lone stream that originates from a mountain spring emitting clear cool water year round.

Ippetimbal Castle lies at the base of the great mountains near the source of the stream. The castle is mostly a ruin after decades of siege and neglect however its tall tower, drawbridge and encircling moat make it a formidable stronghold against the many attacks by monsters and undead. Most of Ippetimbal can be seen from its imposing position atop the regions steepest cliffs making it an excellent residence for the local lord.

Twin Towns is the main settlement of Ippetimbal and rest upon the rounded banks of the lone stream. The settlement congregated around two defining features; forming two distinct villages thus its name. The first village was built around an critical bridge crossing and the second village around an important crossroad.

The Fertile Basin descends below the cliffs south of Ippetimbal Castle. Its fertile soil are excellent for farming to feed the hungry population.

The Eastern Highlands rise isolated above the stream valley resulting in a different culture taking root.

As Ippetimbal is a semi-mountainous region its primary source of revenue is rare minerals pulled from the regions many mines. Also modest amounts of farming and logging take place throughout the valleys and foothills making the region closer to self sufficient than other mountainous regions.
