Description

Naraka is a scenic and prosperous place for travelers and tradesmen. On a clear day, you can see the mountains of Ren Madragas to the north, the spires of the city of Reeds, and to the west the Great Desert of Heen.

Naraka is the breadbasket of Reeds and Heen. Grain and hops farms spread across the landscape, and clear streams roam through its hills. There are three hamlets where farmers gather to drink local beer, trade, and worship. Temes and Florin have watermills for grinding grains. Bathum, the easternmost hamlet, boasts a vertical windmill to grind grain and a large granary.

Narakan and rouncy horse ranches are so found in the midlands. Narakan is a large, heavy-boned, deep chested horse with powerful hindquarters to stop, spin and sprint.  Narakan stallions are prized as destriers. Smaller and nimble-footed rouncy are bred near western Temes.  Rouncy are valuable pack horses and are sought by Ren Madragas miners.

There is skilled commerce in Naraka. In Bathum, carpenters craft beer kegs and carts for military, mining, and farm use. In Temes, leather guilds and blacksmiths craft horse collars and heavy ploughs for farming and arched saddles, spurs and stirrups for cavalry use. A new Cavalry center is planned here to train the region's Narakan stallions.

In Florin, the new liege recently built Constantine Clockworks. The weight-driven clocks shall be used in clock towers throughout Nothoi. Constantine Castle displays the first mechanical clock forged by the new guild on its central tower.

Around 5200 people live and work in these idyllic lands. Skilled farmers and craftspeople, they worship in the Daishi faith and are busy, cheerful and steadfast.
