Description

Ardmore is a rural region on the southeastern coast of Beluaterra. It share borders with the city of Grehk and Glongin to the west, the townsland of Rueffilo and Rii to the south, and the townsland of Avengmil to the north. Hosting the highway from the City of Grehk to the Twin Cities of Rines and Athol Margos across the bridge on the other side of strait. The traditional Seat of the Viscount is located at Malangton. The more affluent families is found to the eastern edge of the region close to Ardoris Rock.

Ardmore is a vast plain covered with fertile farmlands flanked by the sea from the north to east. It is a major source of food, with many small agricultural communities and a thriving fishing industry. A variety of crops are grown, mostly cereals. The more adventurous fishermen are known to venture further ashore to catch the rare fish known as Huso.

The name of the region probably comes from the word ardoris, an ancient name given to the purple sage plant that grows along the coastal cliffs. Winds blowing from the peninsula create a unique microclimate that is perfectly suited to the Ardmore sage but hard to replicate anywhere else. Ardmore was the historic landing site of Fallon the Seaborn, hero of the epic poem Fallon and Mycealla. This landing site is known as Ardoris Rock.

Near the border to Glongin there is a weathered stone stele. It is topped by a gruesome, silvered, horned skull. The description reads:

"In June 1012, during the fifth invasion, a riombaran army did halt and destroy both the army and the mortal form of Midnight of the South - destroyer of three cities, slaughterer of tens of thousands. We were the last defense of the southlands - and before us thousands of warriors went into the shade to halt him."

One of the last vestiges of what was once the ancient Republic of Riombara.
