Firbalt

Description

Situated on the western shore of the Great Sapphire Lake, Firbalt is a lush and verdant city. Known as the "Garden City" of Beluaterra due to the ancient aqueducts that bring water to every corner of the sprawling city, even the smallest of avenues is tree-lined, brilliantly flowered, and well maintained.

Due to the mild climate, bamboo groves that have been carefully cultivated are a common sight in the parks as well as surrounding the estates of several prominent Houses. 

The southern edge of the city holds all buildings related to the matters of war, including the smithies, forges, recruitment hubs, and militia barracks. The slightly harder earth in the south of the city being far more suited for the necessary parade grounds.

With an emphasis on manufacturing and trade, the major boulevards of the city are lined with mercantile organisations from across Beluaterra, administration buildings for the various crafting unions, and open air markets that are open all year round. These major arteries of the city lead in a spoke-wheel fashion directly to the centre of the city.

The 'City of Kings'
In the very centre of the city lies a complex of palaces that has been added upon over the years, showing a vast array of architectural styles and differing aesthetics. First founded when man originally laid claim to Firbalt, each of the former realms that have claimed the city have left a monument within the complex, and for some... these are the only remnants that they ever stood. The local constabulary pays close attention to the needs and wants of the population, in order to ensure that no vandalism befalls any of these relics of the past.
