Description

Nestled deep within the ancient forests of Beluaterra, the city of Creasur stands as a testament to human resilience. Strategically positioned at the narrowest point between the continent’s northern and southern regions, Creasur lies only a short distance from the Bay of Twillen to the west, and Sea of Sunken Enweil far to the east, allowing it to serve as a critical waypoint for trade. This has made the city a hub for both commerce and culture, as merchants from distant realms traverse its bustling streets, exchanging goods from all over the continent, and indeed the world.

The city's economy thrives on its diverse industries. Vast timberyards hum with the sounds of saws and hammers, fed by the dense forests that surround Creasur. Stone quarries in the nearby hills supply its impressive fortifications, while the fertile farmlands at the forest's edge provide food for its citizens. Skilled hunters and artisans contribute to a thriving market of furs, leather, and finely crafted goods, while administrative houses manage the flow of trade and taxes.

When the city prospers and is protected, it has been known to host a population north of 33,000 citizens. Yet Creasur's history is not only one of prosperity. Its thick stone walls bear the scars of countless sieges, for it has stood as a bulwark in both human wars and battles against the nightmarish hordes of the Netherworld. Kings and nobles have sought refuge here, protected by the city’s indomitable defenses. Though it has fallen to darkness and been overrun on multiple occasions, it has always been reclaimed by those unwilling to let it remain a symbol of despair. An old adage says of the city that "all roads lead to Creasur," which has been true commercially, politically and militarily for countless generations.

Those who dwell in Creasur believe that it will always endure as a beacon of hope and defiance against the night.

Statues and Monuments

Monument to The Conduit of Agony in Daishi Temple District

In the heart of Creasur stands the Conduit, a towering spire of unspeakable horror, fashioned from living human flesh and bones. Its twisted form writhes, as if animated by a grotesque, unnatural life. Tendrils of sinew and muscle stretch between protruding bones, pulsating with a sickly, rhythmic throb, as though the structure itself were breathing. The surface is a patchwork of distorted faces, their mouths frozen in silent screams, eyes wide with eternal terror.

Occasionally, a hand or a foot twitches, and faint, muffled cries seem to echo from deep within, swallowed by the Conduit's vile depths. Thick, dark veins snake around the spire, throbbing with currents of dark magic that crackle through the tortured flesh, sending pulses of agony through the countless souls imprisoned within. It is a monument to suffering, a twisted channel for magic that thrives on the torment it inflicts, radiating a malevolent power that chills the blood of any who dare to look upon it.
