Region Details

Description

Jedinchel is the second largest region on the continent, and its vast mountain peaks are a formidable obstacle between the Northern Tundra, the North Lowlands to the West and the area around Lake Salaman. Bordered to the east by the Stronghold of Vatrona, the south by the City of Vore and the City of Unger in the North, the mountain passes are of great strategical importance. The South Pass Hold and the Valley Forts keep a watchful eye on the only ways to traverse the region. By tradition, the Baron of Jedinchel holds the valley forts while his knights hold the mountain passes to control who enters or exists their lord's domain.

Goats are a prime source of food for the locals and a vital addition to imported produce. In early spring the herds are brought up to higher altitudes where they produce offspring, and led back down for slaughter before the onset of winter. About three quarters of the population occupy modest homesteads in the lush valleys running through the center of the mountains, though most younger family members move up and down alongside the herds.

For those belonging to the mining clans the first melting of the snow is also the sign to reopen the mines dotting the mountain flanks. Some prospect for iron, but simple stone quarries are more common. The ores are refined in the valleys, and the stones exported to the surrounding regions. Gemstones are found as well, but these are legal property of the Baron of Jedinchel. Because the peasantry depends heavily on the protection of local militia, smuggling is mostly non-existent. Unverified rumors exist of a great gemstone hoard hidden near the top of Mount Jedin, but only the Baron knows if those rumors hold any truth.

Statues and Monuments

Statue to Und Nac Felsenbach in The Maximus

The Greatest Living Being to have ever existed, Und Nac is the Bestest Best Lord of Jedinchel.

He was a Sweet Loving Man who was Loved by Many.

He was so Loved, He was Loved by Himself as well!

His Lovely Statue was placed on the Highest Peak of Jedinchel, right above the Grave of Zatar which was constructed by Und Nac to mock Zatar.

erected by Baron Und Nac Felsenbach of The Northern Kingdom of Thalmarkin

Monument to The Wilde Family in The Apex

The Wilde Family was one of the ruling houses of the Kingdom of Thalmarkin. Although they only ruled for a short period, they quickly became one of the richest families in history of the world.

Some say they achieved this by taxing everyone heavily in Jedinchel while others say that what gold the family got from Jedinchel was nothing compared to what the family was earning on Dwilight.

This fancy monument is the last legacy of the family.
