Beziers

Description

Hidden in the woods located on the south west of the Eastern Continent, Beziers name can be traced back to the ancient coastal fishing village of Bessiyar that sits of the coast of the Lions Roar.

The landscape of Beziers has remained mostly a vast tract of unspoilt woodland and heathland providing an excellent hunting ground for a variety of game, while carefully managed logging and lumber camps secure man made trade routes opening up pathways between Aix, Partora and Perdan, no longer hindered by the dense forest.

The forest itself while containing a healthy population of wild boar is better known for the legend of the Beast of Beziers, a long thought extinct species of ancient wild cat, draped in black fur with shining emerald eyes and armour piecing teeth and claws.  While considered to be a myth or old wives tale, many local hunters claim to of had sightings or encounters with these beasts and none who are native to the region will dare enter the heart of the forest.  Despite this, local officials dismiss the legend utterly, attributing the sound of roaring occasionally heard to be a result of the wind howling, while the occasional animal corpse found with oversized slashing or bite marks are considered to be the work of various monster attacks.

Every year many outsiders, would be heroes and explorers have travelled deep into the heart of the untamed forest in search of the beast hoping to make there name and fortune.  None of them have returned with proof.  Many do no return at all.
