Description

A main road between the cities of Aix and Perdan, Dimwood is comprised of mostly fisherman on the coast and farmers farther inland. Two distinct cultures developed from the distinct geography.

The coastline has been colloquially called "The Dim". Peopled largely by amiable and tipsy sailors, those who inhabited the northern shores of Dimwood enjoyed the name. "The Dim" became synonymous with drunken disregard, acceptance at a lack of intelligent finesse, and a firm proclamation that "None of that matters because anyone who would say that isn't drunk enough."

In response, the farmland nestled in the southern woods became known as "The Wood". An expression of its already growing woodcraft industry, the term became synonymous with detail and craftsmanship, as well as setting itself apart from their uncouth northern kinsmen. Furniture made "in The Wood" is highly prized, and modest trade binds the ports of The Dim and the artisans of The Wood to one another. This has lead to a strange duality, but one that the people of the region seem content with.
