Moyale

Description

Moyale is one of the principal breadbaskets of Castle Ubent, producing both large amounts of food and gold for the city. Further, it is one of two regions, with Ar Mosul which provide easy access into the city without having to cross the rather large mountain range to the north, providing the region with some strategic advantage. 

Its hill streams to the north provide an excellent bounty of fish during their seasonal spawns, and the fertile lands to the south reap large harvests of wheat and barley in the fall as well as provide year long working mines which bring in a not unmodest amount of gold.

The region's historical stability, proximity to Castle Ubent, and relatively rich resources have produced a somewhat unique population in which merchants and minor nobility flourish. Many of its hamlets and villages exhibit an air of cleanliness and dignity rarely seen in such proximity to peasants. Because of this, the peoples of Moyale generally hold themselves in higher regard than their neighbors, though often find themselves at the butt of jokes and petty squabbles from those from less fortunate beginnings, generally being known as a snooty bunch. Coincidentally, music making holds an especially important place in the hearts for many in Moyale and has been uptaken into elaborate community events. This is especially true during festivals of the Trinitism church, which most of the populace subscribes to.
