Region Details

Description

Venas is a fertile land of farms and fisheries, the southern border with the mighty river forming a firm barrier between other territories. Bordered to the north by the Pelnora Vents, the rich volcanic ash settling along the northern section of Venas and forming lush and fertile lands for the use of the people. To the west, the region of Hetland provides a similar geography.

The people of Venas are a proud lot who value hard work and honesty. Many are farmers, sturdy and strong of body and belief, with a few craftsmen providing basic services to those unable to travel to the nearby larger settlements. Grains are the main export, with fish and fruits providing diversity in the trades and supplies of merchants and locals. Some hunting is done by those wealthy enough to afford, though it is neither a consistent source of food or goods for the citizens.

The seat of power in Venas has traditionally been the Phoenix Roost, a towering keep in the heartland of Venas that is surrounded by beautifully sculpted gardens and lush lawns, with orchards of fruit trees and ponds dotting the landscape. The Roost has seen numerous Lords and Ladies as residents, and remains a fixed staple of the pride and wealth for the people of Venas, a sign of the riches and power those of Venas have wielded. Growing over time, the Roost has risen from ashes and tragedy as its namesake would suggest.

Auruin Manor has seen numerous renovations, growing from the small noble estate it once was into a residence fit for the wealthiest and noblest of Venas. Known for the beautifully manicured lawns and gardens, it has become particularly famous for an ornate hedge maze that the gardeners have painstakingly added onto the premise. The Manor serves as a slightly lesser twin to the Phoenix Roost, having served in the past as vacation home for royalty, or residence for mistresses of former rulers near and far.
