Description

Settled between the fertile valley of Moyale and the dense forests of Oc Lu Pesh rest the Mines of Isadril, home to the most successful mining operations in the world.  In addition to the run-of-the-mill industrial iron and stone production that every mountainous area thrives on, the Mines of Isadril boast some of the rarest and most sought after materials known to man, making the region wealthy enough to rival even the great cities of the continent, even after seismic activity from the Chaos Temple Cataclysm caused the collapse of a rich silver vein.

Delving deep into the heart of the continent, the people of the Mines search for precious gems, and rarely come up empty-handed, bringing some of the finest sapphires and diamonds that money can buy to market.  While the miners dig below the surface, the quarrymen carve great blocks of white marble from the surface of the mountains - the same marble that was used to build the white cities of the south - Al Arab, Hamadan, the great Ibladesh, and the Mines' namesake, Isadril.

Though it is never an easy life in any mountainous place, the peasantry in the Mines of Isadril have the means to make their lives more comfortable than most - a remarkable feat, as nearly all food and supplies have to be imported from elsewhere.  The nobility, by extension, can often afford a lavish lifestyle.  It is often joked that here, the knights live like lords and the lord like a king; so long as the king doesn't mind his manor occasionally overrun by mountain goats that have been frightened away from the noise and smoke of the mines, foundries and quarries.
